PAL, The Star Tie-up for Digital Advertising
Flag carrier Philippine Airlines ties up with the country’s leading newspaper – the Philippine Star – in the latest technological breakthrough in digital media.
The innovation, a mobile application on iOS and Android-powered Smartphones, provides readers news and information with a variety of interactive features, allowing users to flip through articles like a virtual newspaper.
Through a feature called ‘Augmented Reality LiveIt!’, the public will not only have the chance to know the latest PAL promotional fares, product and service enhancements, but to actually ‘interact and engage’ with the advertisement.
Augmented Reality (AR) is a print ad service capability which integrates digital information of companies, allowing end-users to interface with the system.
As part of its initial salvo, PAL, in partnership with The Star, is launching a raffle promo, giving the public a chance to win roundtrip tickets to 12 of its newest destinations – Basco, Batanes, Kuala Lumpur, Guangzhou, Perth, Brisbane, Darwin, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha, Riyadh, Dammam, and Jeddah.
Interested participants can follow 4 easy steps: first, download the Philippine Star App from an iOS or Android smartphone; next, launch the LiveIt! App from the PhilStar App; third, point the smartphone’s camera and scan the airplane’s image on the print ad to see the video on the phone screen; and fourth, click the words “JOIN PROMO” and get a chance to win a round trip ticket to any of PAL’s 12 new destinations.
